EXERCISE & ACTIVITY
We were assigned a practical which is due this week, in which we
had to find and list down 3 graphic design work from Pinterest
& explain why we like the design. Firstly, we had to make a
new board in pinterest labelled as "DPI". Then, save our favourite
designs that we found.

Design #1:
I am intrigued and impressed by this magazine cover design as it looks really cool and futuristic. I love the gray-ish and beige tone, making it look moody. The colour conveys the feeling of the theme "Depression". The designer used a lot of layering and masking for the woman’s face. I like how there’s another image of the woman merging with the hair of the bigger photo of the girl. Moreover, I like the consistent sans-serif fonts used throughout the whole design. The spacing gap makes the design look cool and interesting to me. Some words are also put into different orientations. It gives an overall feeling of curiosity.
Design #2:
I really love the minimalist and clean look of this design as well as the pink-ish tones. The design looks really elegant and free. I like how the designer portrays the ballet dancer as if she is moving. The different layers of the girl’s dance moves give a sense of movement and freedom. There's also balance in the composition of this design. The word ‘BALLET’ also is well placed, with some of the parts of letters overlapping and some hidden behind the girl’s body parts. The letters are also placed un orderly, which conveys the message of freedom better.
Design #3:
This overall digital Imaging work is really artistic and I love the aesthetics of combining many elements. I really love the creativity in this. I like how the designer creates contrast between the old woman (in sepia monochrome colour) and the other decorative elements which have many vibrant colours such as the birds, butterflies and flowers. Other than that, I like how the designer makes the slice effect of the lady’s face from the head, inserting the colourful flowers blooming from inside of the face. It reveals a meaning behind it to the audience. I think this work is trying to portray the beauty in everyone, whether they are young or old.
