REFLECTIVE WRITING OF PROJECT 2 ONLY:
Throughout these week 7 - 10 of doing Project 2 DPI, my skills in Adobe Photoshop have build up more. I have learnt so
much things such making Double Exposure photos using our portraits and other objects. It was really cool and fun playing around with it. I learnt so much more on blending options as well and clipping masks. I am really happy and satisfied with my result.
Furthermore, our big task which is the quotes poster design was something I found quite challenging because DPI was combined with IVN so it was quite difficult for me. But however, by doing the poster work, I got to gather all my skills which we have learnt since week 1 and apply it to the poster design. I got to utilise the compositions rules mr Fauzi taught us at the beginning of the semester, as well as design principles and elements. I also managed to explore more adjustment tools to edit the images and using double exposure as well for the final poster. It was overall really good and interesting.
I enjoyed and had so much fun doing this task 2 work. I learnt so
much about how important composition is in design & so much more
on how I can apply design principles, rule of thirds, leading lines
and using golden ratio in my collage. I realised that it is really important to not make my poster too chaotic, and make sure the message i want to deliver relates to the composition and images I used. One important thing sir told me is that I should always do a lot of draft sketches before straight away doing on adobe as I could get a better idea of how I want my work to look like. I realise that when making posters, words and its styles are also really important as we have to make sure that the word itself represents or shows what it means.
On Week 10, sir also made us do an exercise on animating elements from photoshop on Adobe After Effects which was an introduction and warm up for us before doing our next final task in week 11 (Self-Titled) which would be animated surrealism. Overall I think it is really an interesting software. Knowing that this program is used in almost all movie is pretty cool. At first, seeing how the program looked like scared me so much because it looks really technical, but i'm sure that as I go ahead and deeper into design ill get used to it more with more practise and self-exploration. I love how Ae can make our poster and work look alive and looks more real by animating them in several ways.
