 OVERALL REFLECTION:

 Experience:
To sum up, this module was quite interesting fun and challenging at the same time. This was my first time getting really exposed to what typography actually is. This module made me realised how detailed and important typography is in our daily live. Not just making it 'look' pretty but making sure it gives a meaning. My experience with this module was unique. I was initially shocked because this subject had a lot of note-taking than I initially thought, especially continuously updating our blog and making sure everything is complete. But after I had finished all the lecture notes it was fine. I also got to read more books related to typography design to further increase my knowledge. My experience with the assignments was alright. Each new assignment, I got to improve myself more and getting used to the softwares such as InDesign and illustrator. I thank Ms Vitiyaa so much for helping me give good advices and suggestions on how to further improve my work in this module. She gave a lot of good feedback and was willing to help students when they asked for help so that was nice. The assignment that I had the worse experience with was task 1. I found it really hard. This was mainly because it was the beginning and I really did not know what to do, so yes I struggled quite a bit. Personally, I enjoyed Task 3, as it was more focused on creativity; but still, it was very technical. Making my own font was really fun and interesting to do. Moving on to the lecture videos, most of the information in the lecture videos is needed so that we were able to understand how to do later tasks, so I can see why we were pressured into watching all of them.

 Observations:
What I have observed from this module is that everything was a blur. At the start of the semester, I was thinking that I will suffer this entire semester in this module. But I spoke too soon. We learned quite a lot in this module, like a lot. Type expression, text formatting, type construction, design layout, and some. These are literally just the basics, but that is a lot already. I got to learn on how important text compositions are too such as adding negative spaces and using the golden ratio rule in text formatting task. In typography, paying attention to each details is very important. I also learnt more that using the guideline/grids in Adobe Illustrator and InDesign really help keep the consistency of the design stable. Another point is that I loved how everyone's work is unique and different in typography as everyone has their own creativity & style in delivering the message from their text, so it was nice learning from each other. In the end, I loved this module so much and i'm happy we learnt typography in Semester 1.

 Findings:
What I got from this module is experience with using Ai, Id, and Fontlab. I even used some of the things I learned in this class for my IVN classes and DPI as well. It was really useful. Other than that I also found out that Typo is very detailed orientated such as the kerning and text formatting. It's a bit satisfying when I finally manage to find out a way to make the text look nice or make the font look nice and such. Although it did get tough and frustrating at some times. I learned that achieving a great design needs a good foundation of basic knowledge of Typography especially understanding the evolution and historical development and the terminologies, keywords used in typography, as this further helps us enhance the quality of our works. Additionally, I managed to even learn some coding from making my blog portfolios. To sum up, I am really grateful and thankful for all the classes I've had throughout all the 15 weeks and Im sure all these learnings will benefit me in other areas of design. :)

The End, Thank you
